State Electric Responds To Hurricane Irma
BEDFORD, MA (September, 2017)- More than 4 million customers were without power in Florida early Monday, more than 40 percent of all customers in the state and State Electric Corporation has mobilized to help. In anticipation of the storm, Florida’s utility companies were reaching out across the US for line contractors to deal with the aftermath and destruction of one of the worst Atlantic coast storms in history. When called by Tampa Electric Company, State Electric was up to the task forming a coalition of contractors and mobilizing 40 pieces of equipment and over 100 workers to help restore power in the Tampa area. The crews led by Jon Koning and Dennis Lindsey left early Friday (9/8) morning toward Tampa where they had been assigned not knowing at the time that Tampa would be hit so hard.
We wish our guys and everyone involved with the restoration efforts Godspeed and look forward to their safe return home.
