Harvard District Energy Facility Award
Awarded By: Bond Construction
BEDFORD, MA (October, 2017)- Bond Construction has awarded State Electric Corporation the Harvard District Energy Facility (DEF). This highly efficient utility co-generation micro-grid, will provide energy and water to Harvard’s future Science and Engineering Complex as well as the rest of the Allston campus. We are thankful to people at Bond and Harvard University for the award and look forward to being part of their team!
The Harvard DEF project consists of the construction of a new three story, 58,275 sq. ft. energy facility formerly the home to CSX Transportation’s railyard operations in Allston Ma. State Electric is responsible for furnishing and installing the switchgear, underground conduits, temp power, and all wiring of the control systems between panels and instrumentation components, including all boiler control, engine control and switchgear control. Construction began in September of this year and scheduled to be completed in May of 2019. Our team consists of project manager Mike Mercier, on-site BIM coordinator Pat Noble and general foreman John Ritz who are presently on site working through the coordination process and performing minor construction activities. The crew is expected to peak around this time next year.
