The Residences at Boston Landing Project Fast Tracked
BEDFORD, MA (December, 2017)- State Electric began working on The Residences at Boston Landing in August of 2016. John Moriarty and Associates is transforming Boston Landing, located in Brighton Mass, into one of the Hubs of Boston. The overall project calls for the development of approximately 1.5 Million SF. To date State has completed work on the New Balance Headquarters and Warrior Ice Arena which serves as the Boston Bruins’ new practice facility. Other projects planned for Boston Landing are the Celtics new practice facility and residence building which are under construction now plus a state of the art Track and Field facility, hotel, and the development of both office and lab space. All of these projects are set to start up over the next couple of years.
The Residences, which we are presently working on, is a 310,000 SF, 18 story tower with 295 luxury apartments. The ground floor is designated to have 16,000 SF of retail and restaurant space. The project was originally scheduled to be completed in 2018, with phased turnovers of June 1 (Floors 1-8 + Mechanical Penthouse), July 1 (Floors 9-12), and August 1 (Floors 14-18). However, with State’s experienced Local 103 electricians and utilization of our prefabrication crew, we were able to fast-track the project and plan to have the whole building complete by June, 2018. All of the apartments including the panels and branch wiring were prefabbed off-site in our Bedford facility and shipped to the project. Without this planning and offsite prefabrication we would not have been able to shave several months off the original project schedule like we did.
The State Electric team led by Project manager Mike Abbot and General Foreman Peter Caratelli along with foremen, Ron Seccareccio, Rick Camillieri, Bob Garrett, Phan Nygun, and Greg Erwin have run an extremely efficient project. We appreciate the discipline and hard work everyone has demonstrated and are confident that we will continue to be part of the John Moriarty and Associates’ team in building up Boston Landing!
