Project Manager

Employment Type: Full Time

Career Level: Manager (Mid-Senior level)

Years of Experience: 5 – 7 years

Description: We are looking for experienced construction managers to plan and supervise a wide range of electrical construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and oversee all construction operations, procedures, and business related items and ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an electrical construction manager
  • A deep understanding of electrical construction project management principles, procedures, and materials.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Low Voltage Systems Project Manager

Employment Type: Full Time

Career Level: Manager (Mid-Senior level)

Description: 

  • Manage the Low Voltage project scopes to include structured cabling, audio visual, access control, surveillance, paging, intercom, etc.
  • Lead a team of technicians and subcontractors while working with clients and company management to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget according to the project plans and specifications.
  • Issue RFI’s and product submittals based on design documents.
  • Establish and maintain a manpower loaded project schedule.
  • Document and track material budget along with vendor invoicing for each project.
  • Effectively communicate with the clients, the project team, and the vendors to ensure appropriate management of the project.
  • Manage State Electric’s safety policies and standards with our Safety Department to maintain a high level of safety excellence
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through strong performance, communication and productivity while identifying future opportunities for repeat business
  • Continuously meet project schedule and exceed client expectations
  • Work with our centralized Procurement Department to execute equipment package buyouts, stock purchases and vendor/logistics management
  • Complete project closeout process with Low Voltage Group Director, and identify lessons learned for continuous improvement

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 3-5 Years of low voltage project management experience.
  • Proven experience as a low voltage construction manager
  • A good understanding of low voltage construction project management principles, procedures, and materials.
  • Familiarity with health and safety standards

Senior Electrical Estimator

Employment Type: Full Time

Career Level: Non-Manager (Mid-Senior level)

Description:

State Electric is looking to enhance its Estimating Department to stay ahead of the industry’s changes and the growing demand for our services.

  • Applicants will be required to manage, oversee, and perform all take-off and quantity surveys per company standardized procedures.
  • Solicit subcontractor and material/equipment quotes from company approved vendors
  • Prepare a complete bid summary for review by management that includes all correct factors per company standards and policies
  • Prepare and submit scope letters, bid forms, and other bid submissions accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Generate RFIs when appropriate prior to bidding
  • Participate in construction turn-over meetings with the Operations Group.
  • Work independently or with a team when needed to complete estimates and proposals in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating
  • Must have a working knowledge of the National Electrical Code
  • Acquire an understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
  • Select metrics to produce valid estimates
  • Attend regular site visits
  • Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data
  • Analyze data
  • Perform risk analysis
  • Prepare detailed estimates for senior management reviews
  • Prepare bid submissions for the appropriate parties
  • A working knowledge of ConEst is a plus but not required
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office

Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Coordinator

Employment Type: Full Time

Years of Experience: Multiple years’ experience: entry level to highly experienced positions available

Location: 2 Deangelo Dr., Bedford, MA 

Description:

State Electric is looking for applicants that can design and draw commercial and utility-power electrical construction plans while ensuring the accuracy of drawings. Our Design Department is comprised of BIM experts who are invaluable assets to our project teams and work towards exceeding client expectations.

  • Process CAD/Revit files to meet State Electric’s standards for coordination
  • Create and maintain Navisworks models that can be used for the field and/or in coordination meetings for clash detection
  • Modify, redesign, and comment on engineering plans and prepare documentation for construction.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the project team towards their core objectives
  • Draft and edit plans in accordance with the construction team and end-users
  • Work with the project team to identify and coordinate prefabrication assemblies/components
  • Organize and file all design documents after estimating turnover

Qualifications/Requirements:

Applicants must have a working background in the electrical construction industry, ability to draw plans, and possess proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks. The applicant must also be able to assist with all phases of a project from schematic design through construction documents.
