Located in the new transit-oriented Innovation District of Boston is 411 D Street’s residential and commercial property. These new buildings occupy 236,000 SF of retail space, 197 apartment units and two parking facilities. The north building is six-stories high and the south building is five-stories high. State Electric prefabricated load centers and in-walls for all 197 apartments as well as the fit-up for the units and amenity areas. This one-year project completed in December 2013.
Due to limited storage space on site, State Electric had to utilize off-site storage facilities for lighting fixtures and other materials. Additional planning and coordination with multiple vendors was required due to created logistical issues.
State Electric established a material management plan. By working closely with the general contractor, owner, and engineer State Electric was able to minimize the impact to the project schedule and job cost.
“I am very happy with the proactive approach by Tom Mierzejewski coordinating orders and work planning. Your foreman Tom Page has a great personality and communicates clearly with JMA putting work in place.”
